The winegrowing farm Piero Benevelli, situated in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langa, is composed by around 8 hectares of vineyards, from which approximately 40.000 bottles of wine are produced. This quantity allows us to maintain a family management of the Company, from the work in the estates to the winery. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
70% Barbera and 30% Nebbiolo, and to my mind, the addition of Nebbiolo really improves Barbera. Same as it ever was. Dark fruit, spice, flowers, new leather, liquorice. Ripe and fleshy, flooded with flavour, though not too much, smooth suede tannin, a cool mineral feel to the acidity, and long deep finish. Terrific. Tasted: Jun 2019; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $35; Closure: Cork; Drink: 2019-2026; Rated: 93 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
