The winegrowing farm Piero Benevelli, situated in Monforte d’Alba in the heart of the Barolo Langa, is composed by around 8 hectares of vineyards, from which approximately 40.000 bottles of wine are produced. This quantity allows us to maintain a family management of the Company, from the work in the estates to the winery. The estate is a committed to preserve the traditions and not abandon the teachings of those who came before them, at the same time supplement this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
Ripe cherry, floral perfume, baking spice, liquorice – bold but aromatic. It’s firm and fleshy, lavish sweet cherry and spice, but again that perfume, and layers of fine brick dust tannin, freshness and some sage and floral fragrance, stony feel, with almond carrying through on a long finish. Powerful, but energetic, is probably a good way to summarise. Feels pretty long term, too. Tasted: Dec 2020; Alcohol: 15%; Price: $95; Closure: Cork; Drink: 2023-2038; Rated: 95 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
