Alpha Crucis is the brightest star in the Southern Cross constellation, the most conspicuous star formation visible from the southern hemisphere. Alpha Crucis wines aspire to be the best and brightest wines from the vineyards in McLaren Vale. They reflect a sense of place and the efforts in the vineyard and winery.
Alpha Crucis wines are only released in those years that satisfy uncompromising principles of quality and varietal integrity. Consequently, production of the wines may not occur in years where the climate or vintage conditions challenge these principles.
Predominantly 90yo vines in Blewitt Springs, 10% whole-bunch ferment, matured in 3rd-use French oak for 11 months. Brilliant crimson hue: an intensely perfumed bouquet floats into the juicy palate of pomegranate, red cherry and spice. A gorgeous grenache. Superlative length.
