Needs a decant to get the party in this bottle started. Black cherry, both fresh and dried fruits wed to dried herbs, oregano and bay leaf. The McLaren Vale soft tannins are fully expressed here, wed to the dark cherry fruits on the front palate. Rating: 94 Points; Rob Geddes MW
Wonderfully fruited and inviting, the wine shows blackberry, sweet plum, toasted spice and vanillin oak characters on the nose, followed by a succulent palate that's velvety and persistent. Beautifully styled and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2028. Rating: 93 Points; Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
The bouquet has lifted aromas of blackcurrant cassis, plums, a hint of spice, vanillin oak and a hint of mint. The palate is full bodied with complex layers of sweet fruit balanced by clean acids and tannin, the mouthfeel is supple and smooth with a long finish. Can be enjoyed now but will benefit from 5+ years in the cellar. Rating: 93 Points (5 Stars); Stephen Read, Wine Matrix
Deep red colour with a tint of purple, and a reserved walnut, bayleaf, brown spice bouquet, the palate very savoury, dry and coats the tongue with fine, powdery but drying tannins. A fairly plain but bold, solid, full-bodied shiraz with plenty of depth and concentration. Solidly-structured, too. It should age superbly. TOP VALUE. Drink: 2022-2032; Rating: 92 Points (4 Stars); Huon Hooke, The Real Review
