Alkoomi Wines is one of WA's largest family owned and operated wine producers. Owners, Sandy and Rod Hallett, together with their children, Laura, Emily and Molly represent the third and fourth generation living and working on the Alkoomi property in Frankland River. It is this family's love and commitment to the place they chose in the Great Southern, as well as Alkoomi's unique combination of gravelly loam soils, warm sunny days and cool nights during the ripening season that produce grapes of intense varietal character and a sense of place.
Brilliant pale straw with emerald flecks. Lifted aromas of pink grapefruit zest, orange blossom and hints of musk. Intense yet delicate flavours of lime juice, green apples and florals. Bright, sherbety and lively on the palate with a precise mineral acidity.
Fine, talcy phenolics and layers of citrus fruit almost obscure the tight coil of acid that springs from the centre. This has delicacy, poise and grace - but it's also powerful, making it an intriguing, beautiful and well-crafted wine. A lot to love right now, or cellar it - it'll go for years and years.
