3 drops began with a family farm and a vision- a vision to produce premium wines and extra virgin olive oil whilst maintaining the integrity of the land for generations to come. Southwest of Mount Barker in the heart of the acclaimed Great Southern wine region of Western Australia, vines and olive trees flourish side by side in the cool, pristine climate. The 3drops vineyard comprises 15 fertile hectares planted with varieties of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz. Italian, Greek and Spanish varieties of olive trees thrive alongside the vines.
The 2019 Pinot Noir has fresh aromas of strawberries balanced with subtle French oak. The palate is silky in texture with luscious strawberry characters, savoury Pinot complexity and integrated with a fine tannin structure. The 2019 Pinot Noir is ready to drink now, but can also be cellared for 8-10 years for it to develop those additional earthy Pinot characters.
Rob Diletti's touch is evident from start to finish. Good colour and clarity. The red berry fruits of the bouquet flow directly onto the palate, there joined by notes of spice and the impression of whole berry and/or whole bunch. Superfine tannins give support to both the texture and length of a classy pinot.
