Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in the Yarra Valley consisting of 28 hectares of vines located at the foot of the Warramate Hills. Established in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus the 1973 vintage saw the production of the first vintage of Dry Red Wines – No’s 1 & 2. This saw Yarra Yering quickly gain an international reputation for quality and individuality.

50% Pinot noir and 50% Shiraz, these varieties complement each other with the perfume and spice of the Pinot and the underlying structure of the cool climate Shiraz.

A 50/50% blend. Superb colour and clarity, startlingly bright crimson. A piercing bouquet of incredible vitality, drive and intensity, the aromas and flavours anchored on red cherries, with subtexts of strawberry and fresh-picked raspberries, which come through in pristine fashion on the vibrantly fresh palate. A spring dawn dew drops on the vines' new season shoots, and an ode to the great Mount Pleasant winemaker, Maurice O'Shea. I am besotted with this wine.
