Yarra Yering Dry Red No2 2013
Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in the Yarra Valley consisting of 28 hectares of vines located at the foot of the Warramate Hills. Established in 1969 by Dr Bailey Carrodus the 1973 vintage saw the production of the first vintage of Dry Red Wines – No’s 1 & 2. This saw Yarra Yering quickly gain an international reputation for quality and individuality.
SA blend of 96% shiraz, 2% viognier and 1% each of marsanne and mataro co-fermented on frozen viognier skins. Based on '73 plantings, the first Cote Rotie style made in Australia. A highly perfumed bouquet, its medium-bodied palate has more red berry notes than that of the adjoining Underhill block; calmly elegant until the expansion and power of the finish.
