Bright crimson-purple hue; for me this is usually the first among equals in the Wendouree portfolio, and it may become a common refrain, but Tony Brady has captured every facet of the great '12 vintage. The texture and structure effortlessly frame the gently spicy, fragrant black fruits of the bouquet and medium-bodied palate; the line, balance and length are sheer perfection. Malty, nutty hazelnut, bright perfumed red fruits, some mint. Medium bodied, dried sage and red fruit, very pure acidity and great shape. Pretty firm and very vibrant. Length is terrific. One for the ages, at present, all cheekbones and style. Tasted: May 2014; Alcohol: 13.6%; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2042; Rating: 95 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
