Trophy (Best Shiraz) & Top Gold - Daylesford

Excellent crimson colour; the medium to full-bodied palate fulfils the promise of the colour in no uncertain fashion; blackberry, plum and black cherry fruits are supported by ripe tannins, oak safely in the background. Always attractively priced, this vintage comes as a double bonus. Drink tonight or in 10 years time, or anywhere along the way. Outstanding value. Price: $12.00; Drink By: 2023; Rating: 91 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion

Excellent deep, youthful red/purple colour. Attractive pepper and spice aromas over red berry fruits, and the palate is full and round, soft and generously flavoured, with stacks of ripe fruit and mild, soft tannins adding appropriate structure. A very good drink now and an amazing bargain. Hard to believe this is $12.00; Drink 2015 to 2025; Rating: 90 Points; Huon Hooke

It's been a little while since I tasted a Memsie shiraz. It used to be a bit of a bargain and I'm happy to report that it still is. Bright blackberry, cherry, plum and cedar aromas lead to an intense and bright blackberry, cassis and malty oak flavours that are delivered in a structured, savoury package. It's full of flavour and interest. Ben Thomas; Weekly Review

Attractive dark crimson and dark cherry appearance, it's all mid palate and quite linear. Plums the dominant feature amongst the dark berry fruits. Not too much acid to speak of but this is deliberate I imagine as it is a drink now style. Grippy, grunty tannins to finish. Good value, this is a pizza, meat balls, spag bol sort of wine. Good. Region: Bendigo; RRP: $12.00; QWine

Lots of colour and flavour for a wine at this price level. Very tasty indeed. Blackberry, cloves, liquorice and peppermint notes. I wouldn’t say it has a lot of finish but for mid-week drinking (at the very least) I’d say, Yep, you can buy with confidence. Campbell Mattinson
