Vibrant and vivacious with tropical fruit, tarragon and snow pea and a fresh, crisp, clean, juicy finish with classical grassy, gooseberry, passionfruit pungency and juicy bursts of lemon and lime. NZ International Wine Awards 2015

Exquisitely fresh, spellbinding seams of tangy grapefruit twist and squeeze through pristine grassy tones. Herbaceous shades inspire and elevate, whilst a cool, flinty contour arcs through greener lilts. Compelling and luxuriant yet showing perfectly judged restraint and synthesis between vital fruit and arresting acidity. Sonorous. Decanter Wine Awards 2015

Press Release
Vidal Estate has picked up its second Sauvignon Blanc trophy in a matter of weeks, this time an International Sauvignon Blanc trophy at the prestigious Decanter Asia Wine Awards 2015, currently the largest wine competition in Asia.
The Vidal Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2015 has emerged as the top International Sauvignon Blanc from the full contingent of more than 2600 wines that were entered into this year’s competition.
This trophy follows the recent announcement on the same wine received the Champion Sauvignon Blanc Trophy at the New Zealand International Wine Show 2015.

Vidal Estate winemaker Hugh Crichton says it’s an honour to be recognised at such a renowned competition: “We’re the first to admit that when it comes to white wines, Hawkes Bay Chardonnays are our hallmark, but we understand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and most importantly we know where we want to go from a style point of view.

The beauty of the 2015 vintage in Marlborough is that yields were naturally low to moderate which has produced wines with brilliant flavour concentration,” he says.
