Vasse Felix was established in 1967 by pioneer Dr Thomas Cullity and is the founding wine estate of Margaret River. Vasse Felix is situated in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, with vineyards also located at northern and southern sites of the wine appellation. The first vineyard blocks were planted in August, 1967.

Margaret River experiences the unique combination of a Mediterranean climate, maritime influence and perfect soils for viticulture. Together, these conditions are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Filius translates to ‘son of’ in Latin, describing the relationship between these wines and their Premier ‘fathers’. The wines are made in a ‘Premier’ style from fruit with greater opulence and generosity sourced from all of the Vasse Felix Vineyards.

Brilliant pale lemon yellow, with a green tinge. The fruit and savoury elements from natural, in-barrel fermentation entwine together in a spell of intricate fragrances with light notes of pineapple skin, green apples, tinned apricots, fresh lime and lemon glaze, weaved with granita biscuit, lightly toasted almond and a hint of clove oak spice. Succulent and juicy, it lands with a soft overall palate sensation. It is fresh and vibrant with delicate fruit flavours of fresh pineapple and green apple and a hint of lemon cheesecake. The fine, juicy palate has a dry, lemon biscuit and citrus pith finish.
