The Lost Block range came about when an impending storm forced the vineyard crew to abandon a prized block of Hunter Semillon to pick a less resiliant variety. Days later, when the lost block was found, the winemakers were so impressed with the quality of the fruit, it was decided to give it a label of its own. Over the years the range has expanded to include wines from some of Australias best known regions, each crafted in a drink now style - soft and approachable with the same fresh, vibrant fruit characters.
A classic, light to medium bodied Hunter Valley Semillon with an un-oaked style that exhibits aromas of limes and refreshing citrus flavours. The floral nose leads into a palate that is seamlessly balanced between soft semillon fruit characters and a clean, light finish. The concentrated yet refreshing flavours of this wine make it perfect as a pre-dinner match for hors d’oeuvres or as an accompaniment to salads, seafood and poultry dishes. Drinking well now, this wine has the capacity to age well in the medium term.
