From vineyards of various ages, some up to 140 years old. Full crimson-purple, the black fruits come leaping out of the glass with the first swirl, and likewise fill the mouth with the first sip, their flanks with a shield of French oak, the tannins bordering on luscious (not a description I have ever used before); the wine oozes potential from every pore (where did that licorice come from?), and begs for a decade to allow it to breathe. Not $129.50, but $29.50. Rating: 96 Points; Drink by: 2052; Price: $30.00; Date Tasted: Feb 2014; Alcohol: 15.1%; James Halliday Wine Companion
