Torzi Matthews is a food and winemaking partnership between Domenic Torzi and Tracy Matthews. Both share a passion and firm conviction of appreciating the value of heritage in the crafting of their wines and olive produce. In 1996 they stumbled across a small, frost-pocketed hollow in the beautiful Mt McKenzie, Eden Valley and fell in love with the area for its remoteness and its diverse thin soils.

Estate single vineyard wine grown in the chilly surrounds of Mount McKenzie in the Eden Valley, Barossa This label represents rendition of Eden Valley, Barossa Shiraz which is the non dried portion fruit that of Frost Dodger Shiraz and is aged in ex Frost Dodger barrels.

Striking purple as it hits the glass, blackberry pastille, chocolate, spice, cured meats. Medium to full bodied, intense and juicy dark pastille fruit flavour, with spice and dried mint and herbs, pleasing almost graphite tannin, clean acidity, and a sexy-time finish of succulence and length. Lovely expression of cool Eden in the glass, ready now, or perhaps ’till June 2030. Tasted: Aug 17; Alcohol: 14.5%; Price: $22; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2017-2026; Rated: 93 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
