Greenock Estate Winery derives its name from a single vineyard planted in 1948 near the historic village of Greenock in South Australia’s premier wine region, the Barossa Valley.

Shiraz Cabernet is a classic blend of Barossa tradition. These combine to add layers of flavor and structure to this wine. It has been carefully crafted to showcase each variety to give balance, depth, interest and harmony with these two varieties. With combinations of red berry, dark berry fruits, mixed spice and fruit cake notes, This wine is a conversation on your palate. French oak 14 months and integrated fine tannins.

A big, cuddly, generous wine with nuance is hard to find, but here it is. The classic Aussie blend is done proud. Abundant blackberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, Aussie bush and licorice. Sweet spice is queen, here. As a colleague would say, there's a lot of everything, but not too much of anything. Fine-edged coffee, mocha oak and smooth tannins bring both richness and definition. Drink to: 2031; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 94 Points; Jeni Port; James Halliday Wine Companion
