Deep, bright red/purple colour; the bouquet fresh and clean, bright and perfectly ripe with outstanding cabernet aromas. The wine is full-bodied and rich, concentrated and deep, with bright, superbly turned-out flavour and structure. Long, long carry. It has the makings of a superb bottle of wine when mature. Alcohol: 14%; Price: $25; Drink 2020 to 2037; Rating: 95 Points; Huon Hooke, The Real Review

Bleasdale Bremerview Shiraz 2015
Gold Medal & 96 Points - National Wine Show of Australia 2016
Gold Medal & 96 Points - Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2016

Yes. This is a goer. The oak feels a bit cedary and sawdusty but in effect it just adds a bit of sex appeal. It’s plummy and blackberried with mint and iodine highlights. It’s a solid red with a bit extra. In the zone. Tasted: March 2017; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $20; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2017-2023+; Rating: 91 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front

De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate Chardonnay 2015
Gold Medal & 95 Points - National Wine Show of Australia 2016
Gold Medal & 95 Points - Yarra Valley Wine Show 2016

Light straw colour with a creamy, cashew nut, subtly citrusy and lightly spicy bouquet; the palate rich, bright and soft, with a lick of ripe fruit sweetness rounding it out nicely. Stone fruits and citrus. A delicious wine, flavoursome yet refined, with extra-long persistence. Drink 2016 to 2024; Price: $30.00; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Huon Hooke; Real Review

With the arrival of screwcaps, and Alister Purbick's stated intention to never put a cork in any bottle of Tahbilk wine now or in the future, the 6-year museum release program for the marsanne will pay big dividends. Gleaming green-gold; just a lovely wine, with the best bits of youth and incipient maturity to its mix of honeysuckle and perfectly balanced citrussy acidity. Price: $24.00; Drink By: 2025; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion
