Follow the length of its winding waters and gentle banks, Côte du Rhône vineyards thrive across 171 rich and varied terroirs and vineyards, all bathed in the same bountiful sun. There’s no place like Rhône! Grenache, the base variety, brings fruity flavours, warmth, and body. Syrah and Mourvèdre give the wine their spicy aromas, and a colour and structure suitable for ageing.  This collection features 3 bottles each from 4 renowned Rhône producers.

Les Courtilles Cotes Du Rhone 2015
Les Courtilles has offered keen value for money in the Australian market for six or seven years now. This is a good way to spend 20 bucks. It’s a lively red, berried, spicy, slightly smoky/clovey/meaty but basically fruit-driven, ripe and bright. There’s a slip of tannin but it’s gum-smooth, almost satiny, or perhaps coated-in-fruit is a better way to describe it. No complaints or surprises here. Just good drinking in a medium-weight manner. Just enough ‘interest’ too. Tasted: Dec 2016; Alcohol: 13.5%; Price: $20; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2016-2021; Rating: 90 Points; Campbell Mattinson; The Wine Front

Mont Redon Reserve Cotes du Rhone 2015
The 2015 Côtes du Rhône Réserve Mont-Redon is about as charming and gulpable as they come. Made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, it’s loaded with notes of strawberries, cherries, dried flowers and garrigue, and this medium-bodied beauty is ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years (if not longer). Rating: 88 Points; Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

Delas Freres Cotes du Rhone St Esprit 2015
The 2015 Côtes du Rhône St Esprit is a medium-bodied, peppery and garrigue-scented effort that has medium-bodied richness, plenty of charm and a delicious, refreshing quality. It’s another example of the terrific quality of the Côtes du Rhônes in 2015. Rating: 88 Points; Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

Pierre Amadieu Cotes du Rhone Roulepierre Rouge 2015
The 2015 Côtes du Rhône Roulepierre offers juicy, jammy notes of ripe black cherries, licorice and pepper in a medium-bodied, pleasure-bent, balanced style. Rating: 88-90 Points; Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate
