Gaelic Cemetery Celtic Farm Riesling 2022
An absolutely cracking Clare Valley Riesling from the sensational 2022 vintage. Certainly not the only one, but can you ever have too much great Clare Riesling? I think not. This has poise, focus, drive and perhaps most especially, balance and length. A beautiful pale lemon colour, this offers utterly beguiling aromatics. Lemons and limes, spices, lavender, bath salts, talc and grapefruits. A fine line of vibrant acidity, but at no time does it seem intimidating. This is an elegant expression of Clare Riesling at its best, and should reward drinking at any stage over the next 10 to 12 years. A beautiful wine. Drink to: 2022-2034; Price: $28.00; Alcohol: 11.5%; Rating: 95 Points; Ken Gargett

Claymore Joshua Tree Watervale Riesling 2022
Very light, bright straw-yellow; very appealing flowery, straw, yeast and dried pot-pourri aromas, the palate intense and bright with quite searing acidity that powers a long finish. The acidity is intense but balanced and calls for a simple piece of pan-fried fish. Classic Clare and quite lovely. Date Tasted: November 2022; Drink: 2024 to 2034; Price: $24.00; Alcohol: 11.8%; Rating: 92 Points; Huon Hooke; The Real Review

Pewsey Vale Eden Valley Riesling 2023
Bruised apple, baked citrus, and warm lime on a nose that is shy at first, but gradually warms up to you. A very generous and lasting palate is shot through with highlights of minerality and the flavours of lime juice, crushed quartz and acid gushes like an underground spring from the back palate. There’s a savoury, almost meaty and herbal edge at the finish, (sage, mint, maybe a suggestion of fresh rosemary) communicating to me what I should be eating with it. Roast lemon chicken it shall be then. Save a little splash for the gravy if you can hold back. Date: Sept 2022; Rating: 94 Points; Morgan Dunn; Wine Pilot

Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Riesling 2023
Preserved lemon, white pepper and spice, white flowers, fennel, and fresh apricot. It’s juicy, quite yellow in flavour, with a fine dusty/chalky texture, bright acidity, pink grapefruit with some pith, almond, and a firm chalky finish of excellent length, with a cinch of citrus peel bitterness. Texture is lovely, and indeed, this Riesling continues to be one of the most distinctive offerings available from this country. As an aside, it’s quite Italianate in its delivery, which of course I really like. Date: Jun 2023; Alcohol: 12.5%; Price: $28; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2023-2030; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
