Weingut Stadt Krems boasts more than 550 years of history, making it one of the oldest wine producers in the whole of Europe. Since July 2003 it has been managed by a young, innovative team directed by Fritz Miesbauer. Its flagships are Riesling and Grüner Veltliner (over 90%).
Shows smoke, honey, honeycomb. Slippery texture, some VA pops into the palate, good though, makes for pretty sourness amongst the slosh of green apple and citrus juiciness. Funky feel. Some savoury spice too. Finishes long and chewy. Really like this feel. Great interest and complexity. Rating: 94 Points. Mike Bennie; The Wine Front
Juicy stonefruit, cool mint, rocks and a savoury grilled nut aspect. Round and juicy, stony acid through it, citrus tang, but mineral and flavour flavour flavour. Clean finish. Delightful. Rating: 94 Points; Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
