Sons of Eden has a simple philosophy to produce wines with flavour and personality from vineyards of unique character within the world class Barossa region. Sons of Eden takes its name from the two partners, Winemaker COREY RYAN and Viticulturist SIMON COWHAM, who both learned and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley.

Freya was the foremost legendary Goddess of ancient Germanic lands where the Riesling grape originated. This single vineyard wine honours early German settlers who cultivated the Riesling vine in the exemplary micro-climate of South Australia’s Eden Valley.

Aromatically lifted floral notes of Jasmine flower are followed by fresh lime and lemon blossom intensity. On the palate the citrus characters of lemon and lime create a core of intense flavour supported by an enduring mineral line. Further notes of freshly cut green apple indicate a pure expression of Riesling, and one that showcases the flavour typical of Eden Valley.Hand harvested, chilled to 6C and whole bunch pressed. It was our intention to craft the finest example of an Eden Valley Riesling. The emphasis was on retaining only the purest free-run juice and fermenting it cool to savour the delicate aromas. The ferment was taken to dryness after which the wine was gently fined, filtered and bottled.

From the ‘Mystical Wine’ series from the Sons of Eden. Woooooooo. Big Corey Ryan reckons it’s one of the best they’ve made. Beautiful pure and pretty thing this is, all white flowers and bath product perfume, sweet citrus and a suggestion of pie apple. Delivers juicy fruit flavour with a superb clean core of acidity, the lightest of fine chalky texture and a very long finish tweaked with ruby red grapefruit freshness. Great to drink now, but no hurry of course. Tasted : Dec15; Alcohol : 12.5%; Price : $25; Closure : Screwcap; Drink : 2016 - 2025+; Rated : 95 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
