Rymill June Traminer 2008 375ml

sweet wine. To lure you in, there are apparent notes of apricot, peach, honey, almond, orange zest, and white blossom. The aromas persist and consequently you perceive whispers of spice including allspice, cumin, cardamom, ginger, and coconut. On the palate, the wine is round and viscous, and texturally pleasing. The stone fruit, nut, and shitake flavours add complexity leaving all the spices and citrus zest to linger on the tongue. The wine may be cellared successfully for  5-6 years. Winemaker Sandrine Gimon

This is a deep gold colour and exhibits some wonderful spice nuances one associates with Gewurz as a table wine but in this instance the apricot and honey from the Botrytis comes to the fore. The trick for a wine like this to succeed - and this one certainly does - is the crisp acidity on the back that balances up these lovely complex sweet flavours. It is a lovely wine that will take a decent chill and the half bottles are a perfect accompaniment for a group of four with desert or a group of two without! Excellent wine. 95 Points ~ James Halliday Top 100 Unlucky Misses; The Weekend Australian, November 2011

A terrific wine that's not been made many times over the years. Smells of Earl Grey tea and lemon citrus, some musky fragrance wafts up smoothly, honeysuckle too. The palate's cut with juicy acidity and has intense, luscious stone-fruit flavours, honeyed tea and marmalade. Nick Stock; Penguin Good Wine Guide
