Remi Jobard Meursault Sous La Velle 2009
So I reviewed it two years ago (while sitting at the domaine), but think it’s currently available in small quantity.
Jun13: Subtle honeycomb, white peach and citrus, oyster shells with a little struck match funk and spiced hazelnut oak. Tight and fine boned with chalky mineral character, fine acidity and excellent line through the palate. Fairly bursts with vigour and keeps on going. Some lemon pith flavours on the finish. Really good, to state the bleeding obvious. It’s going to cellar well, and improve, for a long time.
Sep14: Showing a little honeyed development, light spice, hazelnut and white peach. Medium bodied, good richness and some roundness developing, grapefruity acidity and a controlled finish. Right in the zone. Super for village, though it’s not really village.
