The 2012 Redman Shiraz is made from grapes grown on vines that are over forty years old, and carefully hand pruned, on the Redman family vineyards in the heart of Coonawarra.
The nose shows spicey Shiraz fruit and cedary oak. The palate is medium bodied. Sweet rich fruit and soft velvet tannins result in a well structured wine with a long dry finish.
There or thereabouts. Well-structured, slightly beefy, blackberried wine with saltbush and lead pencil notes rounding it out. Will be better with a few more years under its belt; cork permitting. Rating: 92 Points; Drink by: 2025; Price: $23.00; Date Tasted: July 2015; Alcohol: 14%; James Halliday Wine Companion
