A pungent nose displays notes of green fruit, sea water, iodine and discreet grapefruit scents. There is a really lovely texture to the caressing middle weight flavors that possess a borderline aggressive minerality, all wrapped in a lemony and once again intensely saline finale that is markedly dry but not really austere. This is excellent and also worth considering. Tasted: Oct 2015; Drink: 2022+; Issue: 60; Rating: 81-93 Points: Allen Meadows - Burghound

The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Vaillons has a gorgeous bouquet, far superior to the 2015, bridled with scents of apricot blossom, guava and wet limestone that are all beautifully defined. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, very saline in the mouth with a long and persistent finish. You can sense the animation in the mouth. This is a fabulous Chablis Vaillons that shimmers with glee. Rating: 94 Points; Drink: 2019-2045; Tasted: Aug 2016; Neal Martin; #226
