    Jansz Premium NV Cuvée

    Jansz Premium NV Cuvée

A blend of several vintages of individual batches from vineyard sites specifically designated to growing grapes for sparkling wine for this sparkling-wine-only producer. The Cuvee is chardonnay-dominant, backed up with pinot noir. Full yellow-gold, with some cashew aromas, followed by an intense mix of stone fruit, citrus and strawberries set in a creamy mid-palate, the citrus-toned finish clean and fresh. 94 points, $24.95, Cork, 12.5% alc; Halliday’s Top 100 Wines for 2009 – The Weekend Australian November 14-15, 2009

Combines delicacy with intensity and length; tangy fruit flavour with some bready notes, then a clean, zesty finish. Extended lees contact; several vintages. 100% Tasmania. Cork. 12.5% alc. Drink to 2009 $22.95 Rating: 93 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion 2009

Straw-like Tassie regional character plus lemon/citrus nuances; it's a fresher, less complex wine but far from boring, with crisp chardonnay-driven flavour and a dry finish, giving a lip-smacking aftertaste. Just right for oysters. Huon Hooke, Good Weekend Living Magazine (Aus), 19 January 2008

Bright, fragrant, and approachable, with ripe red-scented fruit aromas, some citrus and stone fruit too. Smooth and supple palate, mixing cool acid cut with creamy mousse. Nick Stock, Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine (Aus), December/January 07-08

In a style that doesn't rely on yeast characters, this Tasmanian has a lemon, floral and honeysuckle greeting before a dry palate that builds into a very grown-up, leaner sparkler, perfect for that twighlight party. Tony Love, Top of the Pops - The Advertiser (Aus), 5 December 2007

Tasmania is emerging as Oz's bets bubbles region thanks to wines like this. A product of premium vineyards, it bristles with zesty citrus and blossom characters and trips lightly across the tongue. Nick Ryan, Virgin Blue (Aus), November 2007

Tasmania is synonymous with the best Australian sparklers. Jansz has been around for a long time, but the quality of its non-vintage Tasmanian sourced wines has never been better. It has a bright, zesty nose of peach, citrus and herbs with a thread of nutty complexity. The palate is fine and complete in feel with long, clean flavour and a tangy finish. Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age - Epicure (Aus), 30 October 2007

The NV is a typically pale, cool-grown Tassie sparkling wine with tangy apple, herb and citrus characters and a fine, delicate palate with a long fine aftertaste.  A lightly nutty touch adds dimension to its pristine fruit. Huon Hooke & Ralph Kyte-Powell, Uncorked for Sydney Morning Herald (AUS)
