This is a great example of Coonawarra Cabernet. Its enormous depth of ripe fruit flavours being well supported and complimented by plenty of spicy oak characters. It is drinking exceptionally well now due to the fruit sweetness but given time in a cool cellar it will gather even more richness.
2004 was a fantastic vintage yielding wines with nice ripe fruit flavours and soft mellow tannins. This wine will show increasing levels of cedar and cigarbox characters and may throw a crust due to its high levels of colour and extract.
The fruit is ripe yet perfumed with blackberry, blueberry and classic Coonawarra mint characters. These are complimented by vanilla and cedar – like oak characters. Rich blackcurrant, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours in a big rich plump palate. The finish is soft, supple and warming. There is plenty of cassis flavour lingers a long time on the palate. A great example of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. Cellaring up to 5 – 7 years to achieve maximum potential.
