Two Hands Brilliant Disguise Moscato 2009 500ml

Two Hands Brilliant Disguise Moscato 2009 500ml

The fruit comes from 80 to 100 year old white frontignac vines grown in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Once a victim of fashion, Moscato wines are now saving this variety from certain extinction in Australia. Serve chilled.

Almost translucent, very pale straw; Lifted aromas of musk and floral notes immediately leap from the bouquet.  Fruit characters of pear, peach, banana and pineapple backing up the zestful appeal. The palate has immediate appeal, balancing weight and texture - long and lean with the right degree of residual sugar and acidity, cleaning the palate for the next mouthful. Winemaking Made from 100% White Frontignac ( Muscat), it is always the first variety to be picked and the first wine to be bottled from a vintage. The essence of the Moscato style is in maintaining freshness, it is pressed,  fermented, filtered, and bottled in quick succession.

This wine really caught my imagination. Luscious sweet fruit but excellent balancing acidity on the back palate and a lingering spritz that reminded me of the sherbet fizz from primary school. So I have rounded up a few cases of this (packaged in smart 500ml bottles). We don't expect to sell hundreds of cases, the mere inference of the word Moscato will put anyone off. However, I wonder if the cringe factor would still exist after trying this lovely wine. Go on, I know you want to! Drink: Now Quality: Excellent; BW, WineStar©

Hiding in a smart little cork-stopped bottle is this cute and friendly 7 per cent alcohol sparkler from Barossan white frontignac.  It's full of fun bubbles, sweet apple flavours and a crisp, crunchy feel in the mouth.  Light and cheerful. Tony Love, The Advertiser
