Within the ancient kingdom of Aragon south of La Rioja, D.O Campo de Borja is extremely continental with all varieties struggling to survive in the cold winters. Renowned predominately for reds based on Grenache and Tempranillo. The vines lie at an altitude of between 400 to 600 meters with the age of Grenache vines being between 40 to 100 years old. The resulting wines are concentrated and well structured with startling purity. 100 yrs old Grenache, 6 months new French oak, aroma is potent, juice, spicy, floral (violets) and mineral. Only 5500 vines, production limited to 10.000 bottles
