Black pepper, red berries balanced by sweet spicy French oak dominate the nose. A medium bodied palate showing sweet red berry character on the front palate. The mid palate is full- flavoured with black pepper and savoury tones. The tannins are fine grained, persistent and of great depth. The wine has a long savoury finish. Will develop further over the next 5 – 7 years.

The Frankland River region is characterised by cold winters, warm summer days and cool summer nights. The grapes were fermented in open-top fermenters and gently plunged to extract colour and fine tannins. The resultant wine was pressed to French oak barrels from Burgundy coopers that perfectly match the Shiraz fruit flavours. After 18 months in oak the wine was blended, fined and bottled with minimal filtration
