The soil is the typical soil of Serralunga d'Alba, very rich in microelements, therefore these vineyards originate wines that express great character, with pronounced acidity and flavor. The colour is dark ruby-red with purple highlights. The nose is brimming over with leather, black licorice and blackberry. This Barbera d'Alba starts out on the palate providing a warm feeling of volume and body, with the fruit blending marvellously with the soft tannins and the acidity, while its finish is long and savory.

Rich, cherry and plum, new leather and Xmas spices. Medium bodied, choc-liquorice and cherry, with a certain juiciness, a sweep of fleshy powdery tannin, balanced acidity, fresh to finish. Very nice. The little bit of bottle age it has is moving it into a good place. Tasted: July 2016; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $43; Closure: Cork; Drink: 2016-2022; Rating: 92 Points; Gary Walsh - The Wine Front
