Maude Pinot Gris 2015
Maude is a family-owned wine company, created by experienced winemaking couple Sarah-Kate and Dan Dineen. Producing hand crafted wines from their custom build winery amidst the stunning back drop of Lake Wanaka in Central Otago, New Zealand. The family estate vineyard, Mt Maude, was planted in 1994 on the steep north facing slopes of the sheltered Maungawera Valley just outside of Wanaka, Central Otago. Tiny parcels of Mt Maude Vineyard wines reign supreme in the Maude range as the individual vineyard reserve wines
This Pinot Gris combines fruit from premium sites in Central Otago, including our mature family owned vineyard in Wanaka, Mt Maude. Typical aromas of ripe pear, quince and brioche lead onto a rich textured palate where whole bunch pressing and partial barrel fermentation has created complexity.
Winestate Pinot Gris of the Year 2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and perfumed with aromas of exotic white and yellow florals, pear fruit, honeysuckle and youthful, lifted fermentation esters. The aromatics are fine in concentration and build in depth in the glass. Dry to taste, elegantly concentrated and aromatic fruit flavours of pears and honeysuckle are lifted by exotic florals and fermentation esters. The mouthfeel is bright and lively from soft, lacy acidity, and the palate exudes vitality and freshness. The wine flows smoothly, following a fine-textured line, leading to a long, tightly bound, mouth-wateringly dry, aromatic finish. This is an elegant, concentrated dry Pinot Gris with vibrant and aromatic fruit. RRP $24.00. 3,600 dozen made. Rating: 18.0-/20.0 Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Classic pear, apple, musk and rose petal florals are abundant in this youthful & vibrant pinot gris. The palate whilst filled with flavours of poached pear and spice, remains precise and elegant, finishing crisp and clean. Winestate
