The Follett family have been grape growers in Langhorne Creek for 120 years and winemakers for over 25 years and have rapidly built an enviable reputation for consistently producing outstanding wines. Lake Breeze selects only the best 20% of fruit from the older vines on the property, to create wines with amazing depth of flavour. These wines include the highly acclaimed 'Bernoota' Shiraz Cabernet.

As comfortable as your favourite pair of slippers, Bernoota is just so reliable. Ripe fruit flavours and aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and mulberry are neatly framed by a well measured touch of oak and a just right level of tannin. A snapshot of the unique character of Langhorne Creek. Drink by: 2022; Price: $22.00; Date Tasted: June 2016; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 92 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion

It’s 60% shiraz and 40% cabernet and it couldn’t be more Aussie feeling if it was an Akubra-wearing dingo eating a kangaroo pie on a bush walk. Generations of Follett family have trod the Langhorne Creek soil growing grapes. Wonderful stuff. It’s a wonderful wine, ludicrous at the price, should last a couple of decades in cellar too. Indeed, it feels primed for a long life, rippling with fine tannin, bright in perky acidity, fine and elegant in the palate. There’s loads of black olive, salt bush, dark berries, ripe plums and suggestions of eucalyptus, but the key thing is just how well it drinks – a glorious, supple flow, medium weight and superbly structured. It sticks to the gums but sighs over the tongue. Strewth, this is good.
