Borrowing its name from the address on Gaelic Cemetery Road, Grant Arnold’s 20-year-old vineyard is situated at an altitude of 400 metres about 3 kilometres north of the township of Clare. The vines are planted with an easterly aspect in gravelly loam, limestone and red–yellow clay, and consistently crop at a miserly 1.9 tonnes per acre.

This wine comes from three different blocks on the vineyard and our intention is to make a wine in the modern Australian Riesling style - crisp, dry and fresh. Pale green in appearance with typical Clare Valley Riesling citrus characters of lemon and lime on full display along with some attractive floral notes. The balanced acidity ensuring a bright, clean finish.

So many things spring into my pretty strange little mind when I read the name of this wine. Some things are best left unspoken…Here’s a drink. Fine balance, great flavour, packed with lime and floral perfume. It has crunch and vigour, bursts through the mouth, finishes long, and leaves you wanting more. Super. Say no more. Tasted: Sep17; Alcohol: 11%; Price: $23; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2017 - 2028; Rated: 94 Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
