Fraser Gallop Estate is set upon 165 acres of undulating land on Metricup Road, Wilyabrup, in the Margaret River region. It is a marvellous location close to other premium producers. Six kilometres from the coast our climate is warm and dry and is moderated by the effect of the Indian Ocean.

Aromas of gunflint, lemon curd, lemon peel and talc. This wine has cool ferment-sulphide (struck match character) complexity with a fine citrus drive. This wine has a fine citrus drive and some toasty richness provided by the well-seasoned French oak. Flavours of quince, lemon curd and grapefruit with lovely poise and presence. Lovely balance here riding the line between zippy acidity and ripe flavours.

The wines from Fraser gallop appear to have hit another plane of elegance and refinement. This has a distinctive wild yeast influence on the nose with a mealy grapefruit character. There’s a touch of minerality in there with subtle stone fruit. It’s all harnessed with a beautifully controlled oak treatment. Has ageing potential. Drink: to 2027; Rating: 95 Points; Ray Jordan

This wine never fails. It's probably the immaculate viticulture that is most responsible, but you also get the feeling the winemaking team don't push the envelope any further than they are totally comfortable with, the most obvious outcome the extreme purity the wine always has.
