Forest Hill Estate Chardonnay 2014
Established in 1965, Forest Hill is the oldest cool-climate vineyard in Western Australia. It is a boutique winery owned by Tim Lyons and family, with an uncompromising approach to quality, creating unique and exciting wines of the highest calibre. Each Forest Hill wine expresses the terroir of the Great Southern region.
A wine of elegant and subtle intensity, the Estate Chardonnay represents class in any company. Vibrant stone fruit, white nectarine and orange blossom flavours carry though onto the palate with subtle hints of roasted nuts. The mouth feel is fleshy with intense fruit characters yet medium weight and beautifully structured.
Brilliant medium straw with green hints. Lifted aromas of fresh stone fruit, complemented by citrus blossom characters. The mouth feel is long and generous, well supported by natural acidity and follows on to a long mineral and stone fruit finish. The wine is certainly approachable now, though will age gracefully over the next 8 - 10 years.
