The idea of a Villages blend is to create charming and inspiring wine from different villages within a region. Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Noir chosen from the Yarra Valley.Shiraz and Grenache chosen from Heathcote. Variety and regional typicity in spades.
Fruit was hand harvested. A combination of whole berry with 15-25% whole bunch is tipped into both open top and small static fermenters. 12-18 days of maceration and fermentation. Pressed, settled overnight and then filled to French casks by gravity.
Vibrant red, bright, touch of purple in appearance. The bouquet is youthful but gently aromatic Pinot Noir, strawberry, plums, spice, smoky oak. The palate is medium weight, textural, red fruits, wood spice, fine tannin, silky finish.
