Craggy Range Te Muna Road Pinot Noir 2013
Based on the single vineyard philosophy of winemaking, Craggy Range was the first in the Southern Hemisphere to specialise in the production of single vineyard wines from the most prestigious winegrowing regions across New Zealand including Martinborough, Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough.
Medium-full bodied and elegantly proportioned, a concentrated core of savoury dark red berry and earthy fruit flavours is complexed by nuances of game and dried herb detail. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively and the fruit succulently sweet. Fine-grained, flowery tannins balance the fruit richness lending supple textures, carrying the wine to a long, lingering, juicy finish. This is an elegantly rich, complex and savoury flavoured Pinot Noir with freshness and fine structure. Rating: 18.5/20; Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
