Blue Rock Wines is a small family owned winery nestled in the southern end of the Barossa Valley. A specialist producer of cool climate wines, they produce around 4,000 cases of wine a year. Blue Rock Wines is 100% family owned and operated. Winemaker, Zissis Zachopoulos, puts his passion, knowledge, dedication and commitment into every bottle with every wine sourced and hand crafted from the single vineyard property in southern Barossa Valley.

The Pantelis Cabernet Sauvignon is the signature wine and bears the name of the family patriarch. Pantelis Zachopoulos (1927-1998) immigrated to Australia from Greece in 1966 with his wife Olga and four children. His diverse agricultural knowledge was passed onto his children Michael, Nicholas and Zissis. In 1998 a few months before his passing we purchased and established our vineyard in the Barossa Ranges.

Machine-harvested, crushed and destemmed, open-fermented with cultured yeast, matured in French and Hungarian oak for 30 months. Reflects the exceptional vintage. The wine has unexpected elegance to go with its highly expressive cassis/blackcurrant fruit, the tannins superfine, the oak evident but integrated. All up, a very impressive Barossa cabernet, its balance perfect. Drink to: 2042; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday; James Halliday Wine Companion
