If you would like to taste a couple of wines made by my Winery of the Year which will show you precisely why they deserve this award, then you might expect me to show you to their celestial Rieslings or their world famous Shirazes but I can do it with the The Great Australian Red blend, too. This accessible, ready-to-drink, Great Australian Red wine is ambrosial with melt in the mouth tannins, proud Clare aromatics and a blackberry chassis so highly polished you can see your face in it. It is weighted perfectly and will appeal to all palates, which I am delighted about, because it is a classic messenger for TGAR and the brilliance and relevance of this blend to all. Alcohol: 14.2%; Price: £18; Matthew Jukes; Top 100 Wines 2016
