Andrew Peace was the first to plant one of Italy's premium varieties, Sagrantino in Australia and now has the largest plantings in the country. The Australia Felix Sagrantino 2012 has a gorgeous nose of ripe red berries, black currant and cherry and hints of quality spicy oak. It is generous in the medium to full bodied palate with the lashings of fruit balances by textural acidity ending savoury. It is screaming out for a pasta or pizza or cured meats. Says Halliday;

Trophy - Victorian Wine Show 2015
Gold Medal - Victorian Wine Show 2015
Gold Medal - Melbourne International Wine Competition 2015
93 Points & Special Value - James Halliday 2016

It rushes out with sweet fruit and then is pulled back by coffeed, earthen tannin. Breathe out, breathe in. Fruit is jubey and juicy; the overall shape and feel of the wine has much about it to be admired.
