The first stage of the vineyard in 1984 was 0.8ha of shiraz and cabernet sauvignon. Rick Kinzbrunner of Giaconda made the first vintage, 1988, and for some years thereafter, but the enterprise lapsed until it was revived with new plantings in 96 and 2000. Today it is planted solely to shiraz and viognier. In October 11 Claude and Sandra Ceccomancini acquired the business and appointed Mark Matthews as winemaker. James Halliday

Full, bright crimson-purple; the bouquet is typical cool climate shiraz, with spice, pepper and licorice together with black cherry fruit, but the power and intensity of the palate is way above expectations, fine-grained tannins woven through the fruit flavours adding complexity and excellent length.
