The assorted Tumbarumbavineyard sites from which this Chardonnay is sourced are planted at altitudes ranging from approximately 800 metresdown to 500 metres.

A wonderful growing season between September and December allowed perfect ripening for the grape vines with the lower yields due to the rains from the previous year, the flavours come into the grapes later than usual as ripening progresses. The grapes peaked at ideal flavour intensity and reflecting the regional characters beautifully. As the rains falling throughout the District during harvest,hand picking was selectively used to only harvest the clean, sound fruit found in these established vineyards.

The colour shows a bright pale straw with a hint of a light green. The nose has a complex natural characters of gun flint, freshly baked bread and soft vanilla bean are featured up front. The wonderfully intense White peach, nectarine and fig characters, with fresh green apple undertones carry through the middle and finishes with hints of cashew oak notes. The palate is impeccably structured and layered, this fine wine shows all the classic features of this vintage. The intense fruit flavours of White peaches and figs provide a platform for the wonderful textural mouthfeelfrom yeast stirring and the beautiful length is derived from the ample natural acidity from slower ripening. All of these signatures points put all together form a very complex and elegant wine.
